  3. Hey, we were on vacation together! I spent two weeks in PA hanging out with GM_Carson, before that, work work work work. But, things will be calm for a couple of weeks, so hopefully I'll be able to get back into the blogging routine. I like the new look to your blog, how did you do that?

  4. i found a website called pyzam.com that has blogger layouts. its good for people like me who are HTML-illiterate. the only bad thing is that your widgets get deleted (fortunately, i only have 3, so it wasnt too much of a hassle). this website has other layouts too-maybe you and carson can find a nice phillies one.

    how was your vacation?

  5. It was great! Hanging out with my wife's family, and of course GM_Carson and his family. We went fishing (I caught a sunburn), we went brewery hopping, and wwe played bored games like a bunch of 30 or near 30 year olds will do ;)

Make sure you check our blog on Wednesday, we have a proposition for our readers (we kind of had you in mind).

  7. thats good. i went to LA for a week, and it was...interesting (only in cali will you find bongs being sold in open air on beach boardwalks).

i will definately check out your blog wednesday. thanks for the headsup!

  8. Never had a need for bongs. I'm probably in a very small minority of 20+ year olds who've never touched the stuff.

I'm glad you had fun in LA. I have family in Fulerton, and visited them back in '93 for a couple of weeks. It is definately a different place. The traffic in LA sucks.

  9. i know about the traffic. my uncle was swearing at the other drivers, and every day some shmo's car would break down in the middle of the highway, and cause a massive gapers delay.

the attitude in LA is so different than what im used to. LA is really...laid back, relaxed, whereas in the midwest, we wouldn't put up with half that crap.

another bad thing about LA is the smog. when we went to the griffith observatory one day, we could see a fine brown haze covering the city landscape. the way i see it, burtie, LA is in a basin, so there's not a whole lotta wind that can get down there to clear out all that smog. as a result, all that pollution just sits there. my brother and i both came back sick because of the smog (we're all better now).

but the weather was good! i'll say that!

  10. You didn't like the smog? I thought it was neat, it was like the earth was taking a massive dump on LA. I hate you and your brother got sick though. That's not good.

  11. no, it wasn't. i thought my immune system was strong enough, but mother nature always likes to remind you of your vulnerability. my brother went to an ear, nose and throat guy for an ear infection (he had it before we went to cali), and the doctor who worked on him lived in tokyo japan for a few years after college. the doctor said tokyo's smog is worse than LAs and people who rarely had resperatory problems came to him in droves because they were getting sick.

but aside from the pollution, the beaches were beautiful. if i was gonna live in LA, i'd live on the beach, maybe in malibu or santa monica, or even redondo beach. whether i can afford to live in those places is a whole different matter, but until the sticker shock sets in, there's nothing wrong with dreaming.

  12. You're lucky. Back in the early 90's when I was there, they were having problems with pollution and the occasional hypodermic needle washing up on shore. Sever beaches, including Long Beach, were closed when I was there. I was able to go swimming one day while we were there, but ever since then, I started glowing in the dark.
